چکیده

Antifungal proteins or peptides (AFPs) are the natural products produced by several life forms including plants as first-line defenses to infections. The AFPs from Thai can be used new therapeutic agents in world with growing resistance conventional antifungals. This study determined antifungal activities of protein extracts medicinal against important human opportunistic fungi, Candida albicans, Cryptococcus neoformans, Aspergillus fumigatus, and Talaromyces marneffei. Total crude supernatants their precipitated 10 historical usage for treatment fungal infection were prepared. Most showed tested fungi. most effective reactivity found Rhinacanthus nasutus, Andrographis paniculata, Psidium guajava showing highest activity T. marneffei ATCC200051 (yeast phase), followed C. neoformans ATCC90112, albicans ATCC90028, (mold A. fumigatus NCPF7367. R. nasutus paniculata containing properties selected partial purification size cut-off membrane centrifugation activities. A colorimetric broth microdilution method was determine minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) fungicidal (MFC) anti-T. partially purified fractions MIC MFC values ranged 2 128 μg/mL 16 >128 μg/mL, respectively. Antifungal Properties of Plants Used in Brazilian Traditional Medicine against Clinically Relevant Fungal Pathogens

Antifungal properties of extracts from eight Brazilian plants traditionally used in popular Brazilian medicine were tested against five clinically relevant Candida species, Cryptococcus neoformans, and Sporothrix schenckii. Results demonstrate that almost all extracts exhibited antifungal activity, at least against one of the microorganisms tested. The ethanolic extract from the leaves of Schin...

Silver nanoparticles, a potential alternative to conventional anti-fungal agents to fungal pathogens affecting crop plants

Metallic silver nanoparticles have been reduced from silver nitrate by employing the extracellular enzymatic machinery of edible White button Mushroom (Agaricus bisporus). The physical properties of these particles, size and shapes have been determined using techniques like TEM, FTIR and XRD and were reported in our earlier report. But, what stands of paramount importance in the presen...
